Both fields are optional. Leave them blank and you still count, you just appear as “a neighbour.” No email, no address, no tracking. The list exists so people can see they would not be the only one walking in.

Reading it out loud is fine. Nobody at that podium is judging your delivery. Say your name, say you live in Apex, say your piece, sit down. Three minutes is longer than it sounds, so if you finish in ninety seconds that is a win, not a failure.
What actually happens when you get there
Arrive at 5:30 PM. Apex Town Hall, 73 Hunter Street. This is the important one. The public comment sign-up sheet is available before the meeting, and once the meeting starts you have missed it.
Find the sign-up sheet near the entrance and put your name on it. Ask a staff member if you cannot see it. If you would rather just watch, you can skip this and still fill a seat, which counts.
Sit anywhere. If the room fills, the town opens an overflow room, which is exactly the outcome we want on the record.
When the Mayor calls your name, walk to the podium and say your name and that you are an Apex resident.
Say your three minutes. Reading off your phone or a sheet of paper is completely normal and nobody will think anything of it.
Sit down. You are done. There is no debate, no questions, and nobody is going to argue with you.
If you cannot make it, the next best thing takes two minutes: email all of Council with the pre-written message, then send this page to one neighbour. One person bringing one neighbour is how a chamber fills.
